To make. the "ultimate pilgrimage" to holy Kailash(6714m) and Manasarovar is the main highlight of this tour.. .. Mount Kailas , which has religious significance for both Hindus and Buddhists, is an important pilgrimage site. For Hindus the peak is the home of the god Shiva, while Buddhists equate the mountain with Mount Su-meru , the cosmic center of the universe It is said that a single Parikarma of mt.kailash erases the accumulated sins of a lifetime, while 108 cicurmbulation will achieve Salvation.

Sprawling below Mount Kailash is the sacred lake Manasarovar (4550m), is one of the most beautiful and sacred lake in Asia where ritual bath will deliver a pilgrim to brahama's paradise . It is said that the waters of Manasarovar are like pearls and that to drink of them erases the sins of a hundred lifetimes According to Hindu and Buddisht epics, the four great rivers of the Indian sub-continent, the Indus , Ganga , Sutlej and Brahamaputra actually arise from Mansarover lake.

Mt. Kailash and manasovar also offers many opportunities for nature lovers as large numbers of unusual species of birds, wildlife and flora-founa can be found here. This holy region is a symbol of creation of the universe, attracting scholars and researchers worldwide. Near manasarovr lake one another lake is also there which is RakshasTal, the ‘DemonLake’ that holds far less spiritual significance.We start the tour from Kathmandu in Nepal & the tour includes traveling overland to the sacred Manasarovar Lake and Mount Kailash

We donot charge extra for the parikrama.only If you wish to Riding Yak/Horse for Kailash Parikrama (direct payable to Yak/horse man). the cost will be approx US$ 80 for Yak and USD 120 for horse payable. All Indian pilgrims are advised to hire one. You have to understand that the yaks are not domesticated but are meant to carry luggage.

Model of payments

20 days prior to tour departure date, 100% of the total cost should reach Astapada kailash Travels Pvt. Ltd. account by telex transfer with passport of client.

Tour Cancellation policy

All notice of cancellation must be sent to our office in written. Verbal cancellations will not be entertained.
20 days before trip departure 10% of total trip cost.
15 days before trip departure 50% of total trip cost.
10 days before trip departure 90% of total trip cost.
07 days and less departure 100% of total trip cost

Important information
FITNESS
Please start to get morning walk, jogging daily; stretching & regular exercise should put you in the right shape (concentrate on your Heart & Legs Aerobics).; it is recommended that you bring a good day pack and are fit enough to carry shacks; filled water bottles / canteen; food / snacks; camera; film; jumper; sun hat; first aid kit; lightweight rain gear & extra clothes etc.

ALTITUDE-SICKNESS
This is an environment-related condition, which can affect anyone who ascends too rapidly to high altitudes with out acclimatizing properly. As you are traveling over high terrain, you are likely to experience symptoms and discomfort of altitude sickness (headache, loss of appetite, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, breathlessness etc.) until your body adjusts to the elevation. This can take a couple of days or more depending on an individual. For this reason alone, we have made it mandatory to stay 2 nights at Nyelam (12000ft) before moving on to the higher altitudes. Drink plenty of water, be calm, and do not exercise. Do not drink alcohol or smoke prior to and during the tour. We also recommend you carry a strip of diamox tablets. Do consult your physician on the dosage. We provide Gamow bag (a special equipment to prevent sickness from high altitude) on this tour.. Please note that DIAMOX has to be taken by all participants as a precaution .

RESPONSIBILITY
All arrangements within TIBET are solely at the discretion of the China Tibet Tourism Bureau (CTTB) a Government organization & we have no control over the quality of the vehicles and guest house.astapada kailash travels and it’s associates or employees; shall not be held responsible for any lapse on their part & reserves the right to change the itineraries without advance notice, depending upon the weather & road conditions etc.

CURRENCY
All major foreign currencies are accepted in Zhangmu Bank in return for Yuan. , The unit of Chinese currency is Yuan. USD 1 = 7 Yuan. 1 Yuan = INR 7-8 approx; Money can exchange at Bank of China at Zhangmu or from the locals at Zhangmu or Kodari. Exchange all your remaining Yuan at the end of the trip at Zhangmu itsself before re-entering Nepal.

CUSTOM-FORMALITIES
Valuable goods taken for personal use (radio, still & video camera etc.) should be declared at the custom office by completing a custom declaration form & brought back on return journey. Antiques must be properly certified otherwise they may be confiscated.

TRANSPORTATION
From Katmandu to Kodari private bus will be provided for the group. Border crossing from Kodari (Tibet and Nepal border ),. Throughout the journey in Tibet you will be travelling in Japanese fourwheel drive Land-Cruisers / Pajeros(4 persons/car). A truck will be provided for luggage and all camping equipment & food supplies.

STAFF
Our highly experienced Sherpa staff team will be responsible for all Camping & Cooking arrangements during the trip.

OXYGEN
One Oxygen cylinder with mask will be provided in each vehicle and during the Parikrama Please note that the Oxygen is to be used only in case of emergency. & also Basic first-aid kit.

BRIEFING&ORIENTATION
There will be a detailed briefing of the entire program on the day of your arrival at Katmandu. It is very important that all participants attend this briefing. If you have any un-answered questions then you discuss during the meeting.

ACCOMMODATION
Acomodation in Nepal on TWIN sharing basis at 3/4star hotel. Single accommodation can be provided in Nepal only at extra cost; please specify at time of booking the tour. During the rest of the journey in tibet. Accommodation in Tibet rooms are very basic without any modern amenities and most of the places every rooms has to accommodate 3-8 persons on dormitory basis. Single room will not be available. Toilet facility is very worse in Tibet,so we use to manage toilet tents and also can go to for open places. No laundry services will be available throughout the yatra.

FOOD&BEVERAGE
We will be providing pure vegetarian breakfast & dinner cooked by our Sherpa's at campsite. Lunch will be packed Light Snacks; to be carried. You should bring sufficient supplementary food like dry foods, chocolates; biscuits; nuts; pickles & your favorite tinned products to add variety to the meals if required.

VISA & DOCUMENTS
You must be in possession of a valid passport for at least 6 months. We will obtain your visa for Tibet; additionally you must allow 20 full working days in Katmandu for the Visa. Please provide all the information asked for in the Tour Booking Form along-with 4-passport size photographs. Your passports should reach us not later than 15 days prior to your arrival in Katmandu.

GUIDE, ESCORT
Local English speaking Tibetan guide will escort the group throughout the tour in Tibet.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Still & home video cameras are allowed in Tibet without having to take any permission.

INSURANCE
We recommend that you insure yourself against Sickness; Emergency Rescue; Accident Hospitalization; Cancellation etc. as we accept no responsibility for any damages or expenses, which may arise from mishaps to persons or their belongings during the pilgrimages.
Medicine recomended :

1. Antibiotics: (Tricthoprim / Sulfamethoxazole - Bacterium DS or Septra DS - double strength (160mgs / 800 mg). Anti-diarrheas: Lomotil & Pepto - Bismol tablets & make sure you bring Charcoal Tablets! Please consult your Doctor for more advice concerning Antibiotics & Anti Diarrhea's.
2. DIAMOX: 30 tablets. (It is a must that every participant takes DIAMOX from the day of his or her arrival in Katmandu. This is a precaution measure taken to ensure that participants do not fall ill due to high altitude. Please also consult your Doctor for this medicine.
3. Anti - Inflammatory: Advil; Rufen or Mortin. Aspirin / Tylenol or General pain killers

CLOTHING
Clothing for both extremes of climate & temperature are required. While driving to Kailash, it will be warm inside the vehicle and light clothing is required. But as soon as you step outside the vehicle, warm clothing will be required to keep off the clod winds of the Tibetan Plateau. Evenings will be generally cold & warm clothing will be required. We recommend you bring along the following clothing & accessories with you: -
